A mash-up of The Great NYS Flea and the Iconic Rochester Public Market Sunday Garage Sales — designed to help you showcase your business, grow your audience, and enjoy a day filled with community, culture, and connection.

Before you register - Quick tips for a smooth process:

  • Have a Reliable Email Ready: Your email is your lifeline. You’ll receive key account instructions, payment links, and your stall confirmation through email — double-check it for typos!

  • Claim Your Marketspread Account: After applying below, you’ll get an email (can take a few days) from Marketspread to claim your vendor profile. Be patient — and check your spam!

  • Three Ways to Pay: Once your account is claimed, you can pay:

    1. Online (AutoPay - Enter card info when MarketSpread account is claimed),

    2. By phone (Call in to pay after MarketSpread account is claimed), or

    3. In-person (Go in person to Public Market Office after MarketSpread account is claimed - Only method available if intending to pay Cash).

    Note: Only in-person payment allows stall selection. Do not enter your card information when you login into your MarketSpread account if that’s not how you intend to pay; if done card will be automatically charged.

  • Want the Same Spot All Season? Booking all four dates up front locks in your stall and saves time rebooking later.

  • No Saturday Calls: The Public Market Office is closed to vendor calls and payments on Saturdays — plan ahead.

  1. Wait for the Marketspread Email: Once the Public Market enters your info, you’ll get a link to claim your vendor account.

  1. Claim Your Account + Pay: The desired method of payment that you indicate in the form below will lock in your stall (see payment tips above).

  1. You're in! You’ll receive an invoice w/ confirmation once your payment is processed.

• By providing my phone number, I agree to receive texts emails from the business.
• Booths/Stalls are approx. 10'X30' which includes vehicle parking. Stalls) must be left clean and free of litter at the end of event. Do not leave unsold or unwanted items, they must go with you. All cardboard boxes must be moved to the Cardboard compacter area in the Union Street lot.

• All items are to be confined within the boundary lines to prevent injuries and to facilitate foot traffic. If the vehicle area of the stall is utilized for display and/or sales, the vehicle must be moved to a parking lot on the Market.

• Vendors must occupy stalls by 7:00 am. If for any reason, the vendor cannot arrive by 7:00 am, the Market must be notified prior to 6:45 am that morning. Please notify at +1 (585) 428-6907

• Vendors must provide their own displays, the Market does not provide any tables or chairs.

• Vendors must use the stall(s) assigned to them. Sharing of stalls) is not permitted.
• Vendors are prohibited from hawking, shouting, using music etc., to attract customers.

Question 1: How much is a Stall/Booth?

A Stall/Booth vending fee at the Great NYS Flea “Sunday Funday @ The Public Market” is $35/Stall. If you are a prepared foods vendor; either a food truck, cart or stand the vending fee is $85.

Question 2: What size space do you have available?

Stall/Booth spaces are 10'x30'.

Question 3: How can I pay my vending fee?

Once your application is approved, you can pay in any of the following ways:

Online via AutoPay: After you receive the email to claim your account via MarketSpread, you can set up AutoPay by adding your card information. Your card will be automatically charged and you’ll get assigned a stall.

By phone: After you receive the email to claim your account via MarketSpread, call the Public Market office to process your payment and get assigned a stall. (585-428-6907)

In person at the Public Market office: After you receive the email to claim your account via MarketSpread, stop by to the Public Market Office during business hours to pay and choose your stall.

Question 4: Are tables and/or vending materials included in space fees?

No, vendors are expected to bring all materials needed. Space will be empty upon check in. And will expected to be empty upon vacancy.

Question 5: What am I allowed to sell?

The Great NYS Flea prides itself on being vendor-friendly. As long as you have the applicable licenses/permits required to sell your products, all LEGAL products, excluding tobacco, cannabis & firearms are welcome to be sold at the Great NYS Flea. Only products can be sold at the flea, no service based business.

Question 6: What if I want to sell food?

If you’re planning to sell prepared or cooked food or beverages the vending fee is $85 and you’ll need to provide the following documentation prior to confirmation of your stall:

  • A City of Rochester Vending Permit or a Monroe County Health

  • Certificate A valid Tax ID (this is for income reporting purposes — can be a Social Security Number, NYS Tax Certificate, or Federal EIN Letter)

  • Proof of insurance with a $1,000,000 policy naming the City of Rochester as an additional insured

  • A photo of your vehicle, including its length (if applicable)

  • A copy of your proposed menu

  • A photo of your fire safety inspection sticker (required if using gas or propane)

Question 8: Where can I park?

The Rochester Public Market is located at 280 North Union Street, Rochester, NY 14609. There is free parking available throughout the market premises, including several large surface lots. You may park anywhere onsite unless otherwise posted. Additionally, during busy events, extended off-site parking is also available within walking distance. Market staff and signage will help direct you to overflow lots if needed. We recommend arriving early for the best parking options!

Question 9: If I don’t choose all 4 dates, how can I re-book?

If you decide not to book all 4 dates upfront, no worries! You won’t need to re-register through the website again—just call in to reserve your spot for future dates. (585-428-6907) That said, booking all dates at once is the easiest option. It lets you pay in one go, secure your stall for the entire season, and skip the hassle of rebooking later.

Question 10: Can I choose my space?

Yes, but ONLY if you are going in person to pay. Please see public market stall/booth map below. If you're going in person, please pick your top 3 stall choices for which stall you'd like from the graphic attached for convenience.

Note: Please choose a stall in A shed, if stalls run out in A shed we will move to C for overflow, reserving usage of shed D for double overflow. Shed B is reserved for Yearly Public Market tenants.
